Hipp Formula Preparation
Contents:
Preparation of Hipp formula is important to ensure the right balance of powder and water. It means that the nutrition of vitamins, minerals, and calories are just right and your baby is getting enough water for hydration. At the same time, you want to make sure that everything is clean and sterile before serving. Once you have mastered Hipp preparation after a few times, you will be happy to know how easy it is to do.
Instructions
- Wash your hands.
- Use bottles, nipples, and other bottle-related equipment that has been sterilized. This can easily be done by adding the bottles and nipples in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes to kill any possible bacteria.
- Bring fresh water to a boil, preferably water that is not heated in the microwave. Avoid previously boiled water, artificially softened water, or carbonated water.
- Cool the boiled water to 122 F/ 50 C.
- Mix the equal number of leveled scoops of powder to equal fluid ounces of water. Combine by mixing or shaking it in a sealed bottle for about 15 seconds. The powder should be completely dissolved and evenly distributed.
- Test formula before feeding so that it is about 98.6 F / 37 C. A drop on the wrist can help with feeling if the liquid is just right.
Additional tips:
- Hipp formula preparation does not use breast milk. Prepare the formula according to the package instructions, then add breast milk to the formula.
- Never pack down or compress the powder into the scoop. It will affect the ratio of powder to water.
- Do not use a scoop other than the one that is provided with the formula.
- You can take the time for Hipp formula preparation and make enough formula for a day in advance. You can make formula and store it in a sealed pitcher or container, then refrigerate it. Then you will only need to heat enough for each serving.
- If you are preparing it in the bottle, you can add half of the water and the formula powder into the bottle, then shake it well to dissolve the powder. Then you can add the other half of the powder and water and shake again.
